Founded in 1993 by Rueben Martinez, Libreria Martinez Books and Art Gallery has been recognized nationwide for showcasing Latino authors and artists. In 2004, Mr. Martinez was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship for "fusing the roles of marketplace and community center to inspire appreciation of literature and preserve Latino literary heritage."
